The Empty Summer by Abeera Mirza

The butterflies I once had for you are now gone,
Like a fleeting summer storm that has moved on.
They flitted and fluttered, bringing joy to my heart,
But now they have vanished, leaving an empty part.
I remember those days when we laughed and smiled,
When every moment with you felt like a mile.
The butterflies would dance in the air so free,
As we enjoyed each other's company.
But time has passed and distance grew,
Our love faded and the butterflies flew.
Now I am left with memories of what we had,
And the feeling of loss makes me feel so sad.
But I hold onto hope that someday they may return,
And the butterflies will once again burn.
