Democratic Republic of Congo by Bienvenue Ruhigita

Mothers weep

 as children say

Fathers lost

 in a deadly way

Villages burn

 as hope fades away

In Congo's darkness

 night and day

Refugees explore

with no place to call

Their stories silenced

behind a wall

But still they dream

of a peaceful land

Where love and joy

hand in hand

In the heart of africa

Where rivers are flowing

While nations are dying

Congo the land of beauty and might

Now you are torn apart

The drums of traditions are silents

The songs of ancestors are ignored

Our identity are stolen

Leaving sorrows and deep regret within us

Our nations soul are lost in pains

And it has betrayed us

Oh congo your tribes, your cultures are so fine

But all are dying like shoots

Let rise from ashes to charcoal
