Writers Speak Anthology

This anthology is inspired by the various oppressions from extremist governments across the globe, the rising tide of authoritarianism, and our tireless pursuit of free speech and democracy.

Send up to three poems, images, or short writings. For longer works, please submit one piece only. Each piece should not be more than 5 pages for longer works. Shorter works are less than two to three pages. Interviews under five pages are welcome as well.

The persecution of writers and speakers against injustice is nothing new. It rears its head now, as we face critical times in which the leadership feels challenged worldwide.

I believe that Covid-19 led to a disintegration of things as we knew them. I also believe this usurpation of rights and the voice of humanity has been in the cards a long time. It seems many world leaders wish to silence their oppositions, and good people are caught in the crossfire.

We don't have to agree to listen to one another. Social media has created a vacuum where we no longer consider other views, and the devolution of fake news/malignant narcissistic pandering has couched its furry little head in our global seating.

Literature must pet this furry beast, give it dinner, feed it the voices it will not hear. While not strictly a political anthology, we want to hear your voice on all social topics.

The goal here is unity, providing platforms for concerns of writers universally, and supporting the right of expression. Please keep in mind we anticipate works that carry substance and thought-- literary quality, but that does not mean you can't rant. Just put your rant in an essay and send it to us!

The world needs you and your voice now!
