Three Poems by Francesco Favetta

The friend is a son !

Invisible walls

as borders

between the words spoken

and those swallowed

in the silence of the days.

Promises don't count

nor even the clothes worn

without causing any fuss

in different seasons

of human life.

The friend is a son

rooted in the heart

it is a fountain of pearls

the rarity among the obscurities

it is never the freezing veil.

And then between the fingers

always hides

the opposite of reality

and it is so visible to the eye

to hurt the soul.

Sunny blue

Sunny blue

yellow heart

sweet sunset

beloved awakening

storms and caresses

breaths and enchantments

shining paths

surfaced abysses

screaming tides

broken banks

kidnapped flames

awake sleep

dead destinies

silent loves.

Island

I will mirror myself in you

and to you

I will trust you

with you I will live

and in you

I will trust

rebel soul

daughter of the stars

welcoming planet

and

silent island

majestic landing place

of ships

never set sail

bold refuge

of twenty

impetuous

cave of peace

and

fire of passions

for hearts never

sated

thousand-year-old cradle

of light and heat.

The Poet Francesco Favetta was born in the land of Sicily in Sciacca, he has always loved poetry, writing verses, but above all culture, food for the soul: culture is Freedom, it is Free Spirit, it is Soul in Motion, not should never be harnessed! In 2018 he was awarded the Academician of Sicily by the Accademia di Sicilia. Finally, the Poet Francesco Favetta is convinced that Poetry will be the weapon with which humanity will set its life free, and furthermore that Beauty will always be a truth, which will never be buried: from the times and events of daily human life!
