Four poems by Sushant Thapa

Summer Heat

Summer heat

Can melt

Your fame.

It can tame you

In vain.

You forget to look,

If you know to see.

You forget to rest

If you do not work.

Summer heat

Is too sweet

So that it is bitter.

It is so caffeinated

That you forget

Your thirst.

Summer heat

Is like a jar of water

That you hate to boil.

The heat is a devil,

With all its chilling mistakes.

Alone

I am a stone

Waiting to become a home.

I am a room

Kissing your pictures on the wall.

I became a zero without ego

When I danced full circle with you.

Life came tumbling,

Like a slingshot I aimed at

My desires and

My solitude,

They broke into morning

With stars trampled by my shoes.

I am alone

Etymology of personality

Has been my mirror.

Can you see me?

I have been a teardrop

On piano keys.

Do I make music loud enough?

Shadows

Shadows have keen interest on me.

I look towards light.

You came like a ball of metaphors.

Love never being a popular movement,

To own a beloved.

We know a gun is thornier

Than a rose.

Bullets bleed like

No thorn can prick.

Shadows linger

Like no light can make you see.

Chord of Beauty

It struck the chord of beauty,
In me.
It brought you close.
I could feel the pulse
And the rhythm of happiness.
I could see my reflection
In your approach to me.
I overthink in love,
Come take away
This poetic heart.
You are my dark lady
Like Shakespearian mystery.
You strike
The chord of beauty in me.
My literary friend like you
Can fall in love too,
Only, I am the fool
Who knows not
To play it cool.
You plugged the chord of beauty
In me.
