Forsaken Fortress by Kheemchand Koli

In a far-off forsaken fortress
With crumbling walls and fading glory
Where time's tearing hands manifest
In withering ruins of royal place
A legend of forbidden love
There reverberates a mystery
Of invincible love in the walls of the fortress
As the sun's solemn journey
Comes to closure with a dreary gloom
And night with dulling shadows
Wraps the world in a balmy repose
The nocturnals with consonant carols
Fill the air with sanative serenity
The stray birds make celestial rounds
In heaven's vast alter
Seeming to be celebrating a sacred rite
There blooms, in the ruins , a rhapsody of immortal love
In two spirits of forbidden love
Once sundered by fate's forlorn pen
Or slain in conservative constraints
When moonlight with soft gleams
Pervades the decaying ruins
The two lovers come to life
Attired in heavenly costumes
In free and fearless realm of brooding silence
Athirst for love for eons
A damsel bedecked with opulent jewelry
And a wealth of long dark hair
Curling her dainty face in soft breeze
Her milky white skin glowing in the moonlight
And a prince with stout physique
With regal splendour gleaming his face
They both immerse in delectable embrace
They sing , dance and celebrate
Beyond time's shackles
Drinking deeply
From love's immortal cup
Their voice echoes through the walls of dimmed place
They meld with the mist clouding over the castle
As the night wraps off its blanket with dawning sun
Their song seamlessly seeps into forsaken fortress.
