Being an Introvert in Your Society by Sushant Thapa

“Our culture made a virtue of living only as extroverts. We discouraged the inner journey, the quest for a center. So we lost our center and have to find it again.”

~Anaïs Nin

I am a circular garden

Every taste outside of it

Is not honey for you?

I am a sun of your room

You are forcefully compelled to

See me outside in the sky

Like multiple stars.

I have a painting for an eye,

Moonlight bleeds through

My wall mirror.

I have that faraway gaze

Yet the social you

Labels me as an isolated introvert.

My love is a lone letter

Filled with true ink of love

That is also my pearl of emotion.

My gaze doesn’t flower

Your love,

Yet I normalize

Being an introvert.
