Lastus is anointed as the hero. In the 21st century, people's reliance on technology in their lives, along with the stress of becoming increasingly alone, has become Lastus' weapon. He wants to conquer mankind by tempting man with various facilities and comfortable life. He challenges the gods of heaven not to neglect mankind like them. But even the gods don't want to lose power. So the battle cry rang out with a strange but real result.

The characters of this modern play, written in the structure of an epic poem, crosses the boundaries of different eras, crosses the history of different religions and holds together, talking to each other through dialogue. লাস্টাস এর খেতাব হল অন্ধকারের রাজপুত্র, তার নামের সূত্র ধরে জানা যায় যে তার অস্তিত্ব লালসাকে ঘিরেই। মিল্টনের প্যান্ডেমোনিয়াম পরবর্তীতে তৈরি হয়েছে এই লাস্টোনিয়া যেখানে স্যাটনের রাজত্বকাল মুহ্যমান, আর নতুন নায়ক হিসেবে অভিষিক্ত হচ্ছে লাস্টাস। একবিংশ শতাব্দীতে মানুষের জীবনে প্রযুক্তির ওপর নির্ভরতা যার সাথে সাথে ক্রমশ একা হয়ে যাওয়ার মানসিক চাপ--- হয়ে উঠেছে লাস্টাসের অস্ত্র। সে মানবজাতিকে জয় করতে চায় নানান সুযোগ-সুবিধা ও আরামদায়ক জীবনের লোভ দেখিয়ে। স্বর্গের দেবতাদের দিকে সে চ্যালেঞ্জ ছুড়ে দিচ্ছে যে তাদের মতো মানবজাতিকে সে অবহেলা করবে না। কিন্তু দেবতারাও ক্ষমতা হারাতে চান না। তাই বেজে ওঠে যুদ্ধের দামামা যার এক অদ্ভুত অথচ বাস্তব পরিণাম ঘটে।
মহাকাব্যের কাঠামোতে লেখা এই আধুনিক নাটকের চরিত্ররা ভিন্ন যুগের সীমা ছাড়িয়ে, ভিন্ন ধর্মের ইতিহাসের গণ্ডি পেরিয়ে একসাথে ধরা দিচ্ছে, একে অপরের সাথে সংলাপের মাধ্যমে কথা বলছে। শেষ পর্যন্ত লাস্টাসের পরিকল্পনা কি সফল হল? জানতে গেলে পড়তে হবে "লাস্টাস: অন্ধকারের রাজপুত্র"
